You mean like right wingers (fascists) and children/abortion? Cry murder with abortion, the unborn, just words and ideals, not your body. But when it comes to living children, like at the border, #### em, not ours. Would be too much work to have to do something about them, like help.K.C. Thanks this.

Any chance we can keep the polarized politics out of this thread?
zep1218, Switcher and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
That's really not how that works, given the quantities hauled.
Truck drivers could make double and a box of cereal would cost an extra dime or quarter, assuming the costs were passed along perfectly.
Something along those lines. Someone willing to do the math can get more accurate. I'm sure someone will be like "actually you'd only make an extra $350 a week if prices only increased that much." Ok. So give us an extra $350 a week.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
They'll give you just enough to bump you up a tax bracket so your $350 will net you $175.

One dude paid his off and left. And I recently sold the oldest one. Now it's just me and Truck 2.
Now is the worst time to buy a truck. So I won't take anyone until things normalize.Muskie and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
Union Pacific Railroad is suspending all service for container unit trains between Los Angeles and Chicago for at least 7 days beginning this week. That is 50 trains or more, with 200-400 containers on each one.
Why?
Because the rail head in Chicago is so backed up with containers they cannot handle anymore until they get the backlog cleared.
It is legendary how badly the drivers are treated at the ports and rail heads. Pay and conditions. Some OTR, some day cab.
Now it is coming back to haunt the companies in that supply chain. And this is only one segment of the industry. All have symptoms of the same disease.
It isn't just pay.haycarter, rollin coal, Midwest Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Need a TWIC card to get in the rail yards too.
