is police very stright on truck + trailer combo (4+3).
i mean they are obviously made for overload.
here we overload less and less.
i mean people still buy 20m3 tipper bodies on 4axle trucks, this is for like 130k with rocks/asphalt. but they dont longer pull trailers. many bought 10x4 tippers to keep axle weights down.
timber trucks usually go in pair with tractor+ semi and load them to keep costs down without going too heavy.
seeing 70+ t trucks become rare now.

Um, not if this is correct.
The maximum allowable weight for a commercial motor vehicle in Indiana, without a special permit, is 80,000 pounds. As part of his vehicle inspection Trooper Thumb weighed the truck and its steel coil cargo, discovering a combined weight of 176,300 pounds, or 96,300 pounds over the maximum allowable weight, without a special permit.
The fines for the overweight violation alone are just under $14,000.spsauerland Thanks this. -
In Indiana you can register for higher weights than 80,000. He had a b train with third axle on both trailers. 12,000,34,000,20,000,34,000,20,000 and 34,000 is 154,000, so he would have been "only" 22,300 over weight. He had no registration at all, so the default "registered" weight would be 80,000 lbs.haycarter, spsauerland and Oxbow Thank this.

Gotcha. The way I read it he was only registered for 80k.Bean Jr. and spsauerland Thank this.
