Correct. They are organized and "united".
Truckers today want to race to get ahead of the other guy coming out of a brake check, or one of the biggest
complaints, tie up a fuel pump when in taking a dump. Some guys will remember when driver actually waved
    when oncoming.
I have said it before. Until and I doubt if it ever will be, until it is a recognized trade there will be no change.
Create some standards and stop the BS that permeates the environment that drivers are in everyday.

They went on strike early 90's I recall as they were picketing when I crossed into Windsor. That strike only lasted a week or two as well.

We have to look at it from the border guards point of view.
For the last year and a half their boss has been throwing money around like a drunken sailor on first shore leave in 8 months at the rippers. But when it come to paying people actually working and doing a job "they are asking for more then we can give"

They weren't asking for much, just the same increase as other enforcement agencies got.
Also I'm sure if you watched your boss spend all the company's cash on hookers and blow for their buddies then on payday told you sorry nothing left for you. You'd be pissed.

It’s pretty crazy to wait almost two years with the borders essentially closed and then with a hint of reopening they announced a strike. I get that everyone needs a cost of living / inflation pay raise but it’s incredibly crappy timing.

It was litterally an ambush how they did it. Esp right before Canada is to open its borders to usa visitors. They definitely played they're hand perfect.

They had been without a contract for three years. The government knew this has been coming since they closed the border.
Why wouldn't they play the hand they were delt after being jerked around for three years?
