I just hit 5 years experience with clean MVR. Want to move on. Any suggestions?

Every single story of lease purchases has always been a "I know a guy" story by people that has never done them. I've not once heard a person give their own story about failing at it and not admitting it was because of their own shortcomings and expectations. I think you're successful at a company and enjoy working there and want to own a truck, they are a good option. The payments are about equivalent to sub 10% financing rates. It's the delusional suckers that think oh lease purchase is more money it's going to make me an owner operator, etc. those people fail do to their own ignorance and unrealistic expectations.

It's no different than people who have never driven a truck with DEF talk about how bad and expensive they are, because again, "I know a guy" and he told me a story. These same people couldn't explain how DEF works to start with to a four year old yet alone have any validity in their opinion on it..

IDK, I find it suspect when someone claims to work at a mega for 5years and doesn't seem to have an idea how to make more money. Doesn't pass the common sense test to me. You'd have to keep yourself really really isolated to be clueless after just a few months, but 5 years? IDK
I work at a mega almost 2 years now with no intention of moving on anytime soon. There's more to my situation than just money. But, if I wanted to make more money, I know about multiple options to do that. Moving on from a mega and making more money is a really long way from being complicated.
    My thoughts anyway.

Because you don't learn anything at megas. They find it more efficient to hire an office worker to do the jobs of 40-60 drivers so all they have to do is hold the steering wheel. Bet he's never had to plan his own route, they send him routing. Never had to plan for fueling, they send him fuel stops, never had to replace a light bulb or cage a brake chamber, he just calls somebody and even they call road side for him while he sits and waits. I started at a mega and you literally don't do anything but drive. You don't learn much of anything.

    Depends on the contents.

I'm hauling milk, either full (no slosh) or empty. You'll need the tanker endorsement, and eventually a milk haulers license.

Cows don't produce much in the heat, so you'll have 2-3 days off a week. At least I do, and I like it that way.

Milk hauling is exempt from HOS rules.

Tanker jobs are in demand these days, you could get top dollar.

Years ago after working for a company we sub contracted for a company pulling for FedEx custom critical, mostly pharmaceuticals. We worked for them for a year before we got our own used rig. We stayed at FedEx for 6 months before going to another company that has been mentioned and have been with them for over 2 years.

With your experience your doors are open, you are in demand. I like being an O/O because I have more control, BUT I don’t have the benefits (medical, etc.) of being a company driver.
