That was trailer...don't do it on a steering tire.
Always check the area where you are backing up to a dock...lots of sharp #### laying around.

How long will it be before someone tells you how that's wrong?

Eh, ideally you patch the inside too, but if it works, it works, ive run tons of miles on from exterior only patches

    Joe, nice documentation, very helpful

You do what you gotta do to get down the road.
Then maybe yank it off when you get home and patch it...Maybe

    Ha ha.
    Let's be honest about it.
This is a quick fix, at best. But easy to do and buys you some time. Depends also on the size of the hole...
I don't have time nor desire to wait on a road squad and miss my day objectives. Per Loves guidelines, the hole is to close to the edge to patch it. They would sell me another tire. I don't mind finding out if there is anything at risk leaving it for a longer time like that but I don't think any rupture as likely to happen.
So far, there is no bubbling or pressure drop...
Perhaps the plug itself may not last too long before it starts leaking again so trying to patch it would be a better solution.

Especially since a tire service would have said “oh no that’s too close to the sidewall, liability means i have to sell you a new tire!”. smh
