Have heard that Pilot/Thomas reverted back to forward facing camera’s only. Supposedly there was some instances where the video and audio was played in a couple court cases, and it didn’t exactly turn out the way Pilot was hoping for.

In cab cameras..
Never heard of this, tell me more. -
Nothing like a sun visor to keep the sun(camera) out of my face. Company said, "but you don't sit in the passenger seat".

Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
I’ll quit on the spot. If it was about safety it would be driver controlled. It’s about hanging a guy out to dry if something happens.

Monitoring everything is here already. You don't even have to drive a truck. The cell phone is monitoring you, the TV is monitoring you, in the general public you are being monitored. Just live your life regardless

Cameras recoring outside the perimeter of the truck is what will protect the driver and company from frivolous claims and lawsuits..Trucker61016, nredfor88, Savor the Flavor and 3 others Thank this.

What else covers the company's ### if the driver actually was distracted? There are instances where that has happened. I tend to think they are covering their ### a multitude of ways. If the driver was doing something stupid and not paying attention, then they have the justification at that point to let him/her goTrucker61016 and bentstrider83 Thank this.

The outside cameras will catch the movement of the truck therefore if driver is not maintaining control the cameras will see that…problem with inward facing cameras is that a shyster ambulance chasing lawyer could simply say the driver took his eyes off the road when they looked down at gauges on dash or looked in their mirror…never underestimate the stupidity of ambulance chasing lawyersBrettj3876, Trucker61016, Chuck Humbuckers and 3 others Thank this.
