I read you should wait for the motor to cool and I was thinking “aw ####” after I took them all out and the first 4 the spark plugs were too hot to handle without a rag lol I wish I would’ve had that shop vac rigged up for the first half to suck up any trash and debris before putting the new plugs in

How difficult is it to take a catalytic converter off? It’s throwing a code at me about it and I just wanna take a peek inside to see if she’s dirty or not; I think some are bolted on and some are welded on?
Ive been thinkin today that I could peruse local junkyards and maybe snag some parts for my car when I need them, such as a catalytic converter and when I really have the money, buy a parts car
Lastly, anyone know a good Jack of some kind to lift my car off the ground for if/when I have to take my transmission out?cke, Lostkeys, Eldiablo and 1 other person Thank this. -

Junk yards can't sell you a cat. Believe it or not, it's illegal to sell used ones (except to recycle). If you have raw gas, it sounds like you have an injector dumping fuel, or a bank overfueling (can be caused by a usptream o2 sensor stuck lean). I'm not smart enough to rattle off how to diagnose it, I would always just run live data and graph on the computer or run whatever pinpoint tests there was through ShopKey. I've only had to replace a couple cats because they were plugged. Car would rev fine, but under a load fall on it's face and sound like it was floating valves (because it probably was lol). All of the other ones were replaced because they either rusted out, or were integral with the manifold that cracked.
