LTL training

Not at FXF. Even the dockworkers have to watch 20 billion videos and go through all kinds of training...

 

Hub dock workers on the hub shift get minimal hands on training. They get maybe a day of shadowing a trainer (with multiple other trainees at the same time) before they’re cut loose and start getting yelled at for not meeting BPH.

 

Don't forget one drawback of having a Tonka truck you have to fill up every other day or daily (depending on your route) especially when you have a peddle route.

 

Hell, most of our applicants don't even get to that point. They go through the background check, whiz quiz and 17 years of videos, and then the instant they realize that this isn't a video game and they actually have to get off their butts and do physical labor, they flee in abject terror.

Perhaps you might consider working for the soda companies: Coca-Cola, Pepsi, 7-UP.
These guys, (and gals), drive to their drop off points, unload the soda, and put it up inside the stores. These drivers work very hard and very fast.

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

 

I can tell you right now FedEx is shorthanded across the board. If you're near an Express ship center, airport ramp (in a big-enough town), or Freight terminal, I'd definitely look into it.

Yup. And they're still looking for drivers to train...

The same is true of FXE, as well. And I mean on the tiniest of little bits. Then there's the refreshers. But it's well worth it in the end.

I take it you're happy @ yrc.. been there for a while?.. what advice would you give to a 50 yrold plus driver just coming on board to yrc shortly.. Thanks
