Alot of work but makes sense. A couple guys suggested to extend the frame forward. Ok, is that extend the frame or frame horns? If you extend the framehorn, do you extend the rear or front of it? Also, the front engine support bracket is mounted to each framehorn and extends between the two. This doesn’t seem to complex but how is this done?

I think it is a two step process. First, sell the 1989 with the series 60. Second, buy an L with a series 60. Offer me enough, and I'll sell mine.

There are so many differences. Just one that pops up looking at your pictures is your steering box is behind the axle, the L is in front of the axle.

The engines are moved back in an L. 379 EXHD, the engine is in the same place. I have more room between the block and the firewall than you do, but I also have room between the shroud and the front of the block.

    Not worth the effort
Just sell it and buy what you want .
It will be cheaper and easier and much faster.

is this your truck you used to make money ?
If so the downtime alone will pay for the other truck .

The amount of $$$$ and work involved for a longer hood seems like a waste. Much less effort to just buy one instead.

I thought, thought, and thought some more about doing this same idea with my t600. The thought finally came to me. 25582.gif

Every now and then this will pop up on one of the facebook groups, west coast log truckers maybe or one of the KW pages. An outfit out of Oregon I think did some up B models with an extended hood, can't remember the name of the outfit but I think they were green with white striping?
