Hello, new to trucking and the forum. A question that has become instantly a problem I am unsure how to manage. Prescription refills. I am out of state with a trainer at the moment and one of my refills need to happen soon.....
How do OTR folks handle prescription refills?
Managing prescription refills while you're over the road.

I used to go to Walmart when it was covered by BCBS, but then it changed to CVS. Now I have to time home times correctly because there are very few CVS's that a big rig can get in to.

Use a national pharmacy chain, like CVS or Walgreens or Walmart.

I use Walmart Pharmacy. Can get refills in any state and Walmart can also mail them to you.

Ask your doctor for a 90 day supply.
Use Walmart or chain.
My BP meds are $30 for 90 days with insurance $58 without so I bought it once without and have a 6 month supply just in case.asphaltreptile311, tscottme, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this. -
I know drugs like statins are VERY expensive, but I would suggest getting 90-day supplies of everything! You should be near "home" at least 2 times during those 90s days. Also, try to have all your meds needing to be refilled at the same time. If you have a relative to get them for you and arrange a place they can send them is another option. This is not a serious problem for OTR drivers. You will find a system that works for you!
Rideandrepair and Chinatown Thank this. -
I also get 3 mos. at a time through Walmart.
