I've spent many years turning wrenches and the story isn't adding up to me. There's something more to it and personally I think that shop is leaving out a few important details.

Get your truck to the Detroit dealer. Stewart & Stevenson. It's right off of I 30 behind the Lowes store at the ####rell hill exit # 39. Will be money well spent. And stay away from those other shops you went to.God prefers Diesels, Speed_Drums, Dino soar and 2 others Thank this.

As much as he’s avoided everyone’s advice to do exactly this, I’m starting to think it must be deleted.God prefers Diesels, Rideandrepair and p608 Thank this.

I'm trying to figure out what is he going to replace?
Maybe having a lawyer getting involved for damages, like using starting fluid (that's what it sounds like was used) which isn't against DD warranty policy and is said not to use for a reason.
Don't know. I do know that taking it to a Detroit Diesel dealer is a must.Rideandrepair and akki abdel Thank this. -

Myself I would not do that. As far as I know all engines have a way to be externally primed.
It's just the idea that until the oil is picked up and sent through the entire engine its metal-on-metal. Yes I know there is assembly Lube, but you want the engine primed with oil so the oil is everywhere it supposed to be before it turns.
And I'm not interested in new trucks or common rail or any of that kind of nonsense, but on my truck I can put new injectors in and I can fuel Prime the entire engine so that the engine will start just the same as if you hit the starter at any other time.
I hate cranking an engine for any reason. It's hard on the starter and the batteries.
It's something to see when you see a brand new rebuilt engine that has never been started, start on the first turn.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Exactly what I was wondering…Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Did they start throwing fuel related components at it because it wouldn’t start after the oil change?
If that’s how it happened common sense dictates that probably some aspect of the oil change went horribly wrong?Rideandrepair and Last Call Thank this. -
yes that what happend after oil change wont started only if you spry itHulld and Rideandrepair Thank this.
