I was supposed to go there the other day, but they took load off and sent me to IL instead. No biggy, since I really did not want to deliver the load to Long Island that I was going to be taking out of there.
-
The only problem I have had with them lately is they are doing a lot of live loads. This time of year if they load to long before you get there you have a load of ice.
-
also remember one thing too' alway go in there with a half tank of fuel'because they will not cut the load down at all'you run what they load on the trailer'.
-
Other than the fact that it is out in the middle of nowhere.....
They have been pretty good to me the few times I have been up there. The longest it ever took was three hours. Usually it takes about an hour and a half. Just pay attention to your directions and try not to get lost.calcaptret Thanks this. -
I've been there twice. The first time my drop and hook had not been loaded. Those guys apologized big time to me. The second time my load was ready. I didn't think anything negative about the place at all. The route in is rather decently marked by company signs placed in visible places along the route. I always thought it would be nice if other companies did the same. The way out is marked as well. Don't mind going there except for the very heavy loads.

Any freight coming out of Maine is good freight, IMHO. I'd rather load at a crappy shipper in Maine than bounce 200 miles to load at an equally crappy shipper in Mass. Maine is a freight wasteland and so in New Hampshire, Vermont and upstate New York.

It might not have been the Hollis facility, but I really liked their terminal. They were pretty quick. busy but professional (ie not rude) had a nice waiting area for drivers, but didn't mind if you waited in the truck.
I'ver had worse places to stay. -
I been up there a few times..It can be real hit and miss if your're doing a live load.Could be two hours, could easily be all day..
