What is an E restriction? Auto?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Yes, i tested in the automatic and i was supposed to have the E (automatic) restriction on the license but the DMV didnt put it
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
As much as it blows, you need to treat it as it does have the e restriction. Call the DMV to verify their records.
The reason is, there has been a fair few times a drivers that have gone out for 2-3 weeks, came home to find a letter from the DMV revoking their licenses until they can get to the DMV to get a new one with the correct restriction.
And you definitely don't want to find out your license has been revoked while sitting at the scale house.Moosetek13, Rideandrepair and Dmaez12 Thank this. -
That Makes sense, i wasnt sure if it was a good thing that they messed up an would be free to drive either auto or manual but now that you say, i wouldnt want to have it revoked!
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Personally, I wouldn't do anything about it.
Several drivers on this forum had the same thing happen and didn't say anything.
One of them landed a high paying job driving stick shift trucks. He told the terminal manager he had only driven automatics and the terminal manager said, "No problem, we'll put you with a trainer to teach you." Now he has a high paying line haul job and home every day.

meaning and origin of ‘don’t look a gift horse in the mouth’
· From The English Rogue (London, 1674), by Richard Head (circa 1637-circa 1686) and Francis Kirkman (1632- circa 1680) The phrase don’t look a gift horse in the mouth means don’t find fault with something that you have discovered or been given.

Getsinyourblood, lester, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this. -
DMV clerks are human just like the rest of us mere mortals. If you are already driving an auto shifter I would just ignore it as @Chinatown suggested. I am not privy to any internal checks within the system so I can't advise you on that. I will say as long as your CDL is legit even if you are contacted all they will do is add the restriction at a later date. I would NOT attempt to operate a manual for a while. I would also let the DMV be the one to contact you! In the meantime just stay ignorant about that mistake!
Rideandrepair and Chinatown Thank this. -
Also. What state? Florida doesn't put it on any license.

Yeah call them ASAP!
I had the state mess my license up, reverted to a class b with no hazmat then to no cdl at all within a month while I was working local with no notice, my insurance company sent me an alert and it was a mess to fix.
It took me a month after meeting with SoS management several times with proof of my license.wis bang and Rideandrepair Thank this.
