IMO doubles and triples is easier and better then a 53 footer.

 

I think he post basically the same question about ever trucking company in North America as a way just to build up his post quota. Guy sounds like an idiot

 

most moving companies do not have tractor-trailer drivers, as that is usually reserved for the longer distance drivers, known as owner-operators, who are leased on with the moving company. in "off times" they may work as Class B drivers for the company, and must also work the loads.

it's not all as easy as you think, with a moving company, and by the way, they are not always as busy all year long. they have many "dry periods", where you WILL BE laid off.

get a job on the loading docks at an LTL company. earn the money there,. get the CDL and then ask for the yardman's job. you will get tons of time, backing trailers into the docks, and storage lots.

 

Curious, did you work for some fly night moving company, or a real VAN LINE? Because most if your post is wrong. I say this based on my 3 decades + experience dealing with them.

 

Allied Van LInes in my state, when i first started driving. they had me, and 2 other guys moving a family. one guy, WAS an o/o who worked there as a mover/laborer, when he did not have any long distance runs....

they did not have company TT drivers, ONLY o/o's.....for that.

I don’t think any worse then any other trailer. If u do just slow down a bit and your fine. I haven’t had a issue yet.
