NEW DRIVER PAY

. I did half that that my first two years each.

 

Was going over the job boards today and saw this ad for Maverick (flatbed), they take fresh trainees right out of CDL school.

Students right out of CDL school after they finish training with Maverick start out at $0.58 CPM when they go solo.

Experienced drivers with 6+ months of experience are starting out at $0.62 - $0.66 CPM.

Both numbers do NOT include the potential for bonuses either, nor do they include the tarp pay and all that.

@Chinatown I didn't realize Maverick had raised their pay so much. They recruited out of my CDL school several years ago and I think (at the time) when students got out of training and went solo they were starting them out around $0.44 CPM. Granted this isn't dry van or reefer but that's great money right out of the gate for someone starting their career on the flatbed side of things. That's a reputable company starting drivers out at almost $0.60 CPM fresh out of CDL school.

 

All companies are raising pay now. FFE starts new drivers at $.50 cpm plus accessorial pays. FFE is coast to coast though, so the pay adds up fast with those miles.

 

I would love 100k a year

 

I don't know how the Journals Resource came up with those pay numbers, but they're way too low.
If the pay was that low, there would be no trucks moving anywhere.
I realize those are median numbers, but anyone working for that pay on the chart, is doing so by choice.

 

I would suggest using the bold face function in the text editor for additional emphasis on this timely and important post. All caps alone is kind of weak. Just sayin'
