I run a Garmin Dezl 7 something or other. This unit is about 3 years old and been updated twice I think. It acts stupid at the most inappropriate times. Seems to get worse with each update, had similar experience with Rand 7" model I had before this one.
I will be replacing with another Garmin very soon I think. I also have a Rand Mcnally laminated atlas obviously.
It's actually quite funny to read these clowns post about how that atlas is all you need. Just try to get to a destination on a small or side street with an atlas. Back in the day, they would call clerk for directions. Atlases are great and every truck should have one, they are still the best tool for trip planning. But gps's are for everything else.

it is same like a car(truck) insurance, when you hit someone(something), it is too later to buy more covered insurance.
Google map is great until you (might) hit the bridge..

I wont hit a bridge. I run terminal to terminal. And a truck GPS you still can hit a bridge. I have had 0 issues.

Is that a 530? I need to replace my 510 but prefer to stay with same basic format which I think I understand ends with the 530? Been looking on Ebay.

I'm looking for some basic GPS which shows truck restricted roads and low overpasses.
    Things I don't need:
    Wi-fi
    Blue tooth connection
    Dash cam
    Logs
    Voice activated
    fuel expenses
    Traffic updates
    Weather
Truck stops on my route, repair shops, etc...
I used a Garmin GPS for cars n straight trucks... it was basic n pretty good. I used it for too many years...
Nowadays these devices have sooo much in them... too much stuff that I don't need.
My former company used Navigator n Copilot. I liked those but my basic GPS was more accurate than those.
Can anyone reccomend a good, simple, basic, easy to use trucker gps? :D

    DannyB Thanks this.
