Wrench was always high on that Hav Blue Synblend.
He talked me into it once. That #### is like water.

Now all things created equal........my Camaro with the LT-1 has been on full synthetic from birth.
But that's also an aluminum block and heads.BigBob410 Thanks this. -
The only thing that “might” happen is develop leaks because of old seals and gaskets.
Synthetic generally flows better so a tiny leak can become a moderate leak.
Always follow manufacturers specs as to oil viscosity imo -
I have been doing the same, I use this to look up the type of oil and filters for my semi
Amsoil How To Get AMSOIL - Buyer's Guide
I used to use conventional for my cars but switched to synthetic to have a longer interval so gonna roll with synthetic for the semi as well, can only help. -
Currently, we are only getting our bulk tank filled to half on our motor oil due to "shortage" of additives. Anybody else experiencing this? Talked to oil distributor and they are being allocated so much oil per month. We run Guardol ECT 15W-40.

Lubrication has been an absolute ####ing dumpster fire this year. Effed beyond effed.
The year started off strong in February, lost some refining capacity in the Texas freeze. Especially capacity for synthetic base oils.
June, Chemtool (big grease mfg) burned to the ground.
August, chemical leak at a major motor oil additive plant that shut it down.spsauerland Thanks this. -

Yes, my employer is having the same issue getting oils into the yard. For years he was an ardent supporter of Warren Oil(Lubriguard, Coastal), last two semi loads have come out of Pinnacle Resources, Pine Bluff AR. with a 5-6 week lead time on the first order back from June, now its down to about 3 weeks.

Yep, still run EPA 10's, some CM871's and CM876's, handful of KCB C13's and plenty of older off road equipment. Not sure the stance now, but Ford was not recommending 10W-30 in the 6.7L for quite some time and we have two service trucks and owners pickups. We have a 550 bulk tank also. Father in law oversees a larger automotive dealer group and mentioned they were being rationed on certain grades of oil.

On a smaller scale, when I went to get an oil change the TA and petro in Shreveport, neither of them had any oil.
Dave_in_AZ and spsauerland Thank this.
