According to Wikipedia®, "[t]he name comes from the Greek word Xenia (ξενία), which means 'hospitality'."
This incident doesn't seem too "hospitable" to me.JoeyJunk, lovesthedrive, mjd4277 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wow, so uncalled for!

Sadly this is becomeing more and more common. During the riots there were guys throwing bricks into oncoming traffic off bridges in chicago for a couple days.

I was passing through rural Nebraska (if memory serves) one time, and there was a young fella walking up the exit ramp towards incoming traffic. He was walking parallel to the right edgeline on the ramp, and if he were to continue following the edgeline, would need to pivot and walk along the road. As I approached closer, I could see an anguished look on his face, and I feared he was not going to pivot to his left and walk along the Interstate edgeline, but continue at his current angle and walk out in front of the truck. I can't exactly explain why I felt this, but I was preparing to swerve if he continued on his trajectory. He pivoted when the edge line of the ramp hit the interstate lane, which was probably a couple hundred feet before I got there, and I could see the anguish on his face. At the last minute he pulled a decent size rock out of his pocket and chucked it at me. It hit the right post by the windshield be and bounced off, making a loud noise.
Somehow, I was relieved vsince the kid didn't step out in front of me. I thought about stopping, but for what? This kid was clearly in anguish by the look on his face and I think contemplating suicide by truck.
An odd experience.NavigatorWife, Bean Jr., Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
Why kids think this is acceptable behavior is beyond me.

I've hauled loads of Bethpage, NY garbage to Xenia, years ago.
The garbage was in tight bales and was dumped into a Xenia landfill.
The people of Xenia found out that if the seal was cut or missing on those loads, the landfill wouldn't accept it.
So, they would roam the truckstops cutting seals. Can't blame them for it either.
The garbage loads were usually overweight and the Bethpage dump wouldn't let the driver return. Had to dodge the scales all the way to Xenia.NavigatorWife and buddyd157 Thank this. -
Maybe it was their way of venting their frustration after getting hit by the worst tornado of the 1974 Super Outbreak!
