I have a friend from Florida that was running a Hotshot. I told him to back down my street. I took a long time to get him turned around. I should be able to park inside the fence if I bobtail. Dad can barely get his 38ft Dutchwind motorhome in.

I can park outside the fence. The local school bus driver won't have a place to turn around. They have hit my fence in the past.

I need to look at the plat map and see where my property lines are. There is an area I could pour and spread some gravel if it's mine.

The far end of my street is a 30* split. I can easily back that corner. Street isn't really a 2 lane. I live in the country.

I really want to thank you for this post. It answered a lot of questions I've had. Being a rookie going to Werner and seeing so many negative posts, you have eased my mind a lot. It really makes you nervous when having to choose a company to start out with. I've been told to stay with your first company for a year or more. I'd hate to go with one I'd hate for a year.

Any suggestions for a rookie with Werner would be appreciated. Thanks again.

I have been researching the companies since september when I got laid off.
I am in my second week of school.
There is good and bad about every company on here.

No one can guarantee if you will have a good experience or not.

I am going to Roadmaster in Columbus. I read negative things on here about them. I have had a wonderful experience and I would recommend them to any one.

You have to go in with a good attitude and be like a duck and let the water run off of your back. When they give you lemons, make lemonaid.

Your mental attitude and mental toughness will make a difference.
    Failure is not an option!
Learn as much as you can. And then when your year is up, re-evaluate everything and then make your next move.

Do not expect everything to go smooth and you will not be as shocked when you hit a snag!

Good Luck to you! And Merry Christmas to everyone!

    God Bless!

Your welcome, but i want to say this.....
Dont base your decision just on what i say. I'm just some random! But a lot of these people with complaints have valid complaints and a lot dont.

I had a guy at a terminal telling me that he watched some black kid get a brand new truck (which NOBODY gets a new truck, and he claims its because he was black. i dont know, whatever). He also told me his girlfriend pulled into the yard and he was doing donuts to show off and just about flipped it as soon as he got it. LOL.

I do know drivers on dedicated accnts get newer trucks. Why? I have no

idea. It can't be that they're better drivers surely? Point a to point b..a

monkey can do that. Ive always thoought its because it is a valued accnt

and they want to have new tractors pullin into the store and have less

chance of breakin down. As far as black drivers getting favoritism at a

    certain terminal. No comment, lol.

Dedicated drivers have a better job hands down. They make wayyy more money. The company probably makes way more money off that truck.

The company shops are currently installing super singles on certain tractors and trailers. I overheard the mechanics saying that its for a Nestle dedicated account. I know our nestle loads = water, but that just doesnt make sense to me. But they sure are COOL looking wheels.

AS12, first of all, most werner drivers are pretty bad drivers themselves. Not all, since i work there, but its a lot like swift! Or any other big company. Most older werner trucks do have bent up fairings, etc. My truck doesnt because they're fiberglass, but the mount is broken on one. And most werner trucks arent XLs anymore, why? Because cool trucks cant go to canada and werner has a LOT of canada freight. And if you're willing to go to canada and get any longnose, first time you go to canada you'll get to trade it at a truckstop for a regular truck! But mine is light blue with the stripes so its still cool looking.

Didnt know that..And when I was on ereg I would have 4k mile weeks sometimes making 29cpm. I made more money then I could have ever made

on a dedicated. Was because I ran hard and made close to no mistakes. Well I guess them DG boys make money though..they unload though..plus

I was out for 4 weeks at a time in an old XL with no apu, wasnt off on the weekends like them, was out there get in er done! lol Ya they offered me

3 dedicated when I worked for them All three of them were Hd actually, one was flatbed, other dryvan and another yarddogin. I didnt have anywhere to

live at the time so I just stayed on the road.
