I'm not lazy, but I don't want to end up with a job that destroys my body. How do l determine if a local job is going to be non-stop back breaking physical labor job?
Any tips to avoid ending up wrestling freight for 12 hours instead of actual driving ?
Are most local/ city driving jobs going to be labor intensive?

I get that . But , I don't want to invest the time applying to jobs that aren't going to be what i'm looking for

Talk to the drivers. Or just watch them... If they look like they are having a good time then that’s a pretty good sign.

lmao . I had a route job for a while that serviced all types of local businesses . I started to take notice of how miserable or how happy the employees were - depending on the business .
Casino employees and mechanics seemed the most miserable
and
Government / City / County employees seemed the happiest and least stressed outaustinmike Thanks this. -
Avoid food or beverage service. Fuel delivery involves wrestling hoses. Dump trucks will probably be pretty easy if you don't mind the mess.
I would look for one of the mail contract haulers. Even if you have to load and unload, and I don't think there is much of that, the mail is loaded on rolling cages or totes that you just wheel around.snowlauncher, Speed_Drums and Moronica Thank this. -
Line haul is the easiest; mostly terminal to terminal/drop & hook.

Not as a standard truck driver, usually the delivery route drivers are putting in physical labor.
Moronica Thanks this.
