Sounds like you should start looking at NV....Wells, Ely, something along or close to Hwy 95. Stay north of Ely and up to the Idaho border. Not sure if you will enjoy the deer hunting....different world when hunting in desert region, no tree blinds, no baiting...but the sage hen, duck, dove, fishing for northern pike (ruby marshes), brook trout, german brown trout, some bass.....plenty to keep you plinking away with lots of room to move.
A decent size buck (mule deer) will field dress at 240-280 lbs.

Alright @cke this one's for you. I was sitting here listening to some Merle Haggard and decided to take a pic of my food.....and I never do that.
You'll also notice my partial load....lol.
Had to stop by a gyys place down in the valley. With the drought, the hay situation is bad. If you normally get 2 cuttings, you were lucky to get one. So now the only folks with enough hay to sell are the irrigated places. Stuff is like gold now here. Alfalfa is $300-$350 a ton and for the first time in my life, grass hay is more than that!

I was watching the pier rats all lined up and fighting to get into the port. Pointed towards home at 7am while everyone else is still fighting to get in.
Around 2 years ago we were going up to Methuen and Ayer pretty regular with empty cans up to Pepsijamespmack, Gatordude, dwells40 and 9 others Thank this. -
How's the drive up to Methuen? I plan on leaving at 0430 to get there about 0830 for a 0930 appointment. I'm hoping the early hour will cut down on the traffic on the GW bridge and through the Bronx. I went through there on accident before and it was no where near the top half of my favorite drives.jamespmack, Gatordude, BigBob410 and 6 others Thank this.

Yeah, that prolly won't happen here. Like I said in a previous post. Neighbor just sold 3 acres with nothing on it, in the middle of a field for $175k. People are buying land locked land here. Land they can't even get to, no access....at all. However, they are buying it up like no other. It's nuts. My buddy who is a handyman, just took a job from a gal that moved here from Oregon. She paid $225k for a 950 sqft house on a small city lot, that she has to do a complete gut and remodel. So, with the cost of materials and labor, she just about doubled the price of her house!jamespmack, Gatordude, dwells40 and 9 others Thank this.

We lived in Elko for 3 years. The homeless and drugs there are really bad. When we were there, there was a study of local schools. 73% of middle schoolers have tried herion. That is huge! Why? Because there is alot of money there with nothing to do.jamespmack, Gatordude, dwells40 and 7 others Thank this.
