Yeah, this MC just bought one off there too. I can't stay down forever in this market, losing ground much money. I also don't blame the guys for selling them for that much, dealerships having been giving me the run around for two weeks now.bzinger Thanks this.

So selling a new part online for 20 times retail is OK? I say they are all crooks and most of these parts are probably hot to boot.
I find it comical that you blame the dealership for not having the part to fix your truck. This is like getting pissed at the grocery store for not stocking toilet paper to wipe your xxx. -
100%
People are STILL getting pissy with us because of parts shortages.
Yeah lemme just head out back with a hammer n chisel and cobble you up some parts out of that big rock over there lol.God prefers Diesels, jason6541, Magoo1968 and 5 others Thank this. -
Ehhh, how bout everyone is to blame here? 20x resale value for an item that literally helps smooth supply chain issues? Opportunistic and legal, but jerk move.
Dealerships relying on weak linked just in time mfgring and just saying "not our problem" frequently for nonessential but "required" parts...
Mfgrs for designing things so they "need" bs parts just to run.
Govt for requiring SOME of those parts.
Its a poopstorm of stupidity caused by everyonebzinger Thanks this. -
Not everyone is suffering through the "shortages". Maersk is a huge company and they're doing quite well. Anybody see a plan here?

It's a combination of the dealerships and manufacturers. They are the people who provide the part and they are the ones who dropped the ball on this part. You know who does have what I need though? The guy on ebay and he would be as big a fool as a trucker who said something like "rates are to high, I think I will quote this broker $500 bucks under what he has posted on a load".
Maybe you don't understand supply and demand? Actually, there is no maybe about it.bzinger Thanks this. -
People are "getting pissy" because their trucks are down and they aren't able to make a living. They shouldn't be taking it out on the dealership staff but the blame for this goes upward and you guys are the next in line to pass it on up. Maybe don't take it so personally when someone is losing their business and they are a little grumpy with you?

I cant say I would use the word "everyone"
Including the end consumer?........even you? Me?
Bottom line, we have to stop being dependent on other countries for the products we need and can provide here at home. Meaning sometimes it may cost 2 or 3 times more to make it. But, we control when and if we get it. Not just wait.......
I dont know about you guys- but this parts shortage deal has made me start shopping alot more here at home.AModelCat Thanks this. -
Yes, but when you have 2 billion in operating profit in ONE quarter and you are a shipping (literally ships) company, its not like 3 sensors are going to put down a freighter. And if they would, they have spares or can literally tell the mfgr, "heres a million dollars, i want that thing in my office in 5 days"
