I imagine there are plenty just like you. But, personally, I couldn't just check out and leave my family to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, though, I don't believe our collapse will be as black and white (or as quick) as a nuclear holocaust. Rather it will be more like a mudslide. The topsoil is already sliding down faster and faster. Eventually, the whole #### mountain is going to fall apart. We are getting plenty of warnings, but few are paying attention.

 

Iran, Cuba, Brazil, Germany, China......ect.
How many countries were great till someone decided to make them better. I always wondered how they convinced the populous to allow it to happen. Now I'm watching it from the inside.

 

History has shown us repeatedly that all great civilizations eventually fall and mankind has repeatedly demonstrated that it refuses to learn from history.

Best we can hope for is that it won't happen in our lifetimes.

Without getting too in the weeds, my belief is that as we have risen to the top of the food chain and bested our natural predators, we are destined to destroy ourselves by "preying" on each other.

Just nature correcting itself and there is no beating nature.

 

I also don't think the end will be sudden or catastrophic. I guess I just don't see the point in fighting to survive in a world that has fallen apart, fighting to the death for food and water?. No thanks.

Maybe if I had kids my outlook would be different.

If you can carry a gun, do so.
My husband and I have been to many places including military bases carrying, they even literally tossed our cab and didn’t find our piece. Don’t do shotguns or rifles. If you carry a gun while driving make sure the gun and ammo are separate in case you do get searched. But you will have them if needed.

A good knife is essential.
A first aid kit is essential.
Extra socks.
Good shoes.
MRE’s are good to have. I bought from a surplus store and as long as you have water they will heat up. One pack has over 2000 calories.
I have a shoval…..a small compact shovel that also has a serrated edge for sawing.
I also have a water filter and chlorine tablets, poncho and hand warmers in my bag, plus extra underwear.
Rope and filament always come in handy too.

I don’t think things will come to that, but we will be ready if they do. My husband is always right.

 

Always bring a towel….
