I guess I did not make it clear. The question was regarding carrying in the vehicle. USCCA states that Illinois allows you to carry loaded on your person in the vehicle if you have a valid permit from your home state or come from a state that allows concealed carry without a permit.
-
Be careful with USCCA, they're good, but not accurate all of the time. Up until recently they had Texas listed as an open carry state, which it is, but a permit is still required for open carry. Unless it's a long gun....
-
That Illinois allows concealed carry in the vehicle I knew without USCCA. But I appreciate the heads-up

Hi. Maybe you should buy a gun in Chicago, for example, so you don't have to risk taking a weapon across the border. You never know what could happen, but it's better to be safe, I think.
-
Theres probably a bigger chance you get in trouble for transporting a firearm than having to use it in self defense.
Now that, I can't get my head wrapped around.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
That's a new one to me. Had to look it up.
2C:39-6, who knowingly has in his possession any hollow nose or dum-dum bullet… is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree. New Jersey is the only state that prohibits hollow-point self-defense ammunition.Mar 9, 2020
I want to carry in the truck but I also want to do it legally. This crap makes it hard.
For those of you who say that they never needed protection I ask. Has the unprovoked violence ever been as bad as it is today? -
If the police want a reason, it will get you in trouble if you have a gun in your truck
-
Very small chance you will be stopped by a Chicago Police Officer.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
How many have had their sleeper searched? I heard about it once in Maryland. Now I don't go there.
