I didn't expect so many replies, I do have a digital camera a nice 5d mk iv but I love a nice film photo. I usually develop them myself but I have no time. There's still places that process them like wallmart but the good ones are niche. I guess IL develop one and report back. Hopefully it's not completely destroyed. Before I got into trucking I tried to become a photographer![]()

I even included a pic of my favorite camera but unfortunately it broke and I don't have the means to repair it

My Polaroids seem fine, my instax will likely be unaffected. So I'm guessing my film might be okay! IL post back in a couple weeks when I get home and can drop them off.

Film and xray don't usually mix. It actually has a few factors. Xray equipment it's mostly directional but we are told to stand in the cement room because Any radiation that scatters can over time linger and add up. Once might not be so bad but if you do it every other day you'd get sick eventually. And if you do it hundreds of times a day thst eventually is much much faster.

8 track was where it was at way back then as well, but they were bulky.
They had the better sound.
Just as Betamax had the higher quality over VHS, but it was more costly (thanks to Sony).
In the end VHS and cassettes won the day because of size and cost.
Not enough people actually care about quality, it seems.Dale thompson and AModelCat Thank this. -
You are 100% correct! My iPhone 8 rear camera is a 12 mp digital camera. The next time I get out and think about it I will take some shots and post them. Of course, a professional would use a camera with the correct lens. I have an old Canon EOS 35MM film camera in my closet. Like the OP I did carry a film camera for many years. Film cameras bring problems, buying film and getting it processed.
As to snapshots v photographs? Back in 2008 I was at the Oconee Nuclear Power plant in South Carolina and took a series of snapshots of the containment buildings and uploaded them to flickr back when it was free. An author in the process of writing a book about nuclear plants and had seen my photos. Contacted me about using two of them. I granted him copyright, but he later said he found photos from another source. Snapshots done right can be as good as a planned photograph!Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
Personally I have no difficulty getting them processed. We'll currently with covid it's been tricky because where I'm from at a point there was a curfew and restrictions as to where I could visit so that put an axe in it. But now I just drop off the films then they email me the digitals and then I tell them if I want prints. And then pick up the negatives

That's fantastic! IF using film is what makes you happy then, by all means, continue to do so. When I was using film I just waited till I was on hometime and carried mine to the local drugstore and they processed the prints that same day. Listen, I know people that still prefer listening to music on LPs.
