More pipe fun. Loads are starting to get smaller with multi drops. Seems to happen in the fall. My light panel under the b IMG_20211005_152742196_HDR.jpg IMG_20211005_164804795_HDR.jpg IMG_20211005_164906332_HDR.jpg umper is taking an awful beating this year. Might have to retire it or go back to a standard height bumper. It's about two inches too low as it is.

You mean the bottom bars? Previous owner bent the middle and right one and I chose to just remove them for now because it was driving me crazy lol. What he hit I have no idea, it was on an older 379 Bull Haulers truck. It has seen some things and has some stories to tell from the looks of it lol

Herd says you can order replacements from them and I may do that but for now it is what it is. The look has actually kind of grown on me. Mad Max style Herd…

Lol, right on. Didn't know if there was a good story behind it or not.
I have to call Herd to get the eyebolts and hardware replaced. Mine are getting pretty wore out.

I keep meaning to call them to see if they keep a serial number built date records because this one has been in existence for quite awhile. It’s got some scars for sure. I think they sell the eye bolts for $50. I keep thinking I want a slam latch and lift assist but then I don’t want to have to remove this thing and reinstall it again.

Can you convert the old style to a slam latch? They have a kit or something?

I thought you could but after looking them over maybe not. I reckon I should call them to see and see how much they sell tubing for. It is .250 3” on the bars on mine.

    which model do you have?

I have the Texas one. It is boxed with no bar at the bottom. If I ever get a new shiny one with less battle damage....it would be the style you have.

Need to put that light bar on some hinges so it hopefully won't be a rigid when it hits the dirt.
