It depends if they are absolute or differential. One is sealed at sea level and not effected by barometric pressure

Nope. It can change slightly with temperature. The only way to be accurate is to learn your gauges on your particular truck/trailer. Learn how they work in different climates. Take notes if you must. I've been fooled plenty of times by temperature variances, but it's never by enough weight to worry about.

I've been running for years with one without knowing about the scaling trick

Shouldn’t it be obvious that you’re going to need to scale a few loads before you can know what your suspension guage should read?

Just imagine if most trucks had precise axle scaling systems built in how that would change things. Wondering what's holding that little invention back.

Yes it does. Need to scale a load at 34k on drives to get correct reading.

Oh I don’t know I have air ride in all 5 axles and have a Bluetooth pressure transducer that is on all 3 axle sets. I calibrate about every 6 months. Get my drives. Steer and trl weights.
    It’s already here.

Companies are cheap? Too many drivers can barely use a cat scale, I wouldn’t trust them to find a flat level spot to use their truck scales accurately.

in the heavy haul world using your air suspension gauges to check the load placement you calculated is an every day thing.
