You can see that ever so clearly with Walmart, whom because they buy 10x what the largest competitor buys gets better pricing. The more you order the better the price, all the way from the people whom make it down to the people whom make the stuff needed to make it.

I find it hard to believe that a human being running a company would resort to this level of cruelty intentionally. I'm guessing the company was relying on credit for some time in order to function, and the when the banks suddenly cut off their credit, the dominoes started to fall. Sadly, I don't think Arrow is going to be the last company have these problems. Any company that is running in debt is going to be in deep trouble in the coming months. We're probably going to hear a lot more of these horror stories. We all need to check into the financial health of our employers. Do a google news search on your company and sign up for google news alerts to be sent to your email. That way, every time your company is mentioned in the news, you'll read about it. If yor company isn't in good health, I'd be looking for another job, and in the meantime, get rid of a lot of your gear so you cam carry everything in a large duffel bag and set back a few hundred bucks in case you find yourself in need of a plane ticket back home. -
Take a good look at this douchebag and think again.
RiverOtter Thanks this. -
The thing is most folks don't work for them very long . They have a high turnover of newbies who think they want to be truckers until they try it and get a reality check . All the major carriers have reduced their fleets . They compensate for lost mileage by cutting starting pay and benefits . As low as they pay gets they always have thousands of willing victims begging to accept it .

I know they are lined up to go to work for them I guess they just don't know there are better ways to go
I had this kid working for me last year on a dedicated team gig home weekends etc... sweet gig taking home 4-5k a month and he chose to go drive a werner truck because he thought that was big time trucking
sometimes ya just can't tell em
-
That's insane! I know a ton of drivers that would kill to have what that kid gave up, me included.
-
Someone here mentioned yellow closing its doors. Well it's starting there yard in Houston over by Parker road and 45 is closed.
-
I hope some of these drivers are smart enough to go get retrained to do something else, or we are going to have driver $ go down down down worse then it is.
-
That's already been happening for the last several years. These companies now are paying 10-15 cpm less than when I started 10 years ago. Next year there will be a 200,000 drivers get put out of work by the new DOT CSA 2010. This company closing is not even a drop in the bucket of that.

Why would it put that many out of work ??
