I spent 5 ht at pickup and 9 hours at delivery. Even thou they said that they will pay detention fee just write your in and out time on bol they never did. When i call them they say i was 5 minute late to delivery which is a lie. Just stay away!

You're elog probably told your company when you got there. It's pretty important to stay current on that. If you were late for real, then detention pay is out of the question.TB John Thanks this.

The appointment was between 12-1.30. I was there around 12.15. They just lie straight to your face.its just their work ethic i guess

You have to get these things in writing. If you don't, odds are you'll never get paid.BennysPennys and TallJoe Thank this.

Apt was probably for 12, knew they didn’t pay detention, then told you to show up late so they wouldn’t have to pay you…
86scotty, TallJoe and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this. -

Ideally, every rate negotiation should have a practice of appending a detention clause. An unwritten industry standard, if you will.
You call a broker and ask for 1. who the shipper and consignee is. 2. commodity and weight. 3. time of pick up and arrival and 4. detention which must be reflected on the very rate con. not some obscured paragraph in the set up.
I am guilty of not practicing it but since most of my loads were "book it now" it would not make a difference. Convoy, JB Hunt, Uber, Coyote have their default detention rates regardless of the customer and with CH Robinson, XPO, Schneider they are not so willing to add anything on it. They'd be quicker to add more to the rate rather than change the preset detention rates.
