He probably could get around 225k for it cause of the van. They're also in Shortage. I would not be surprised if he came on here next week and was all like. Well you're not gonna belive it lol

Maybe I am confused about something here...OK. I give up.
I am just saying that nothing justifies these prices. Well, the very existence of the buyers does justify it but let's say someone buys my junk for over 100K, there is no way I line up to get another truck. I'll go and drive for Walmart at that point and wait with that cash for the right time to visit Richie's Bros auctions.SL3406, shooter19802003, Eldiablo and 2 others Thank this. -
LOL... one by one we’re all going to get picked off by these “investors” and we’ll have to start a new thread for us out of work semi retired folks to sit around and chew the cud.shooter19802003, D.Tibbitt, TheLoadOut and 3 others Thank this.

I sorta do agree and sorta don’t agree with the sentiment of it’s all the same on an upgrade.
The split may be the same but they are getting a truck with 200k on it vs a new one. And we don’t have a good idea of what resold brand new trucks are gonna be priced at because none are for sale. Now, if you were already locked into builds then your in great shape as the trade is way higher and the build is not. That’s different obviously.shooter19802003, SteveScott and Siinman Thank this. -
I'm looking at buying a truck, I'm new and I'm paying cash for truck/trailer.
I see plenty of trucks and trailers for sale.
I'm looking at spending 65k for a truck and 30k or so for a van trailer.
What would a 2016 truck with 450,000 miles go for in a average market?

When half the state is on fire people tend not to get too picky about the rules. The trucks have to be inspected for safety items but other than that the main focus is on getting the job done.
One thing they do watch pretty close is if the truck is available for dispatch at all times. If you have some old junker that's always breaking down they'll quit calling you.
Also the drivers have to requalify every year. It's just a one day class but without it you don't work.Pamela1990, SL3406, D.Tibbitt and 5 others Thank this. -

Don't forget taxes will be owed to possibly your state and definitely the fed for capital gains. Depending on how much you were able to depreciate it in 2 years, you'll owe taxes on everything over the depreciated amount up to the selling price. You made out like a bandit, but the tax man will send you a bill for his share of the booty.Last Call Thanks this.
