Is main st aka 412-56-64 that runs through Clayton New Mexico a truck route?
I don’t have my atlas with me any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The short answer is no. If you come from the east you will turn south on 538 to go down to the scale, then the truck route runs parallel to the highway a couple streets to the west coming back north.

Before you get to 538 there is a sign that says " Trucks no left or right turns on US87"

I’m coming up from Las Vegas NM and going to Michigan.
I know I know not the most efficient, but some how someway my new GPS.
so now I’m here and trying to see if I can get through Clayton on the 56 and get my ### back on a regular route. -
Not sure where you’re going but 412 to Boise City, 56 to Dodge City, then 50 to Emporia is decent running.

Springer to Clayton has a few ups and downs but nothing terrible. There’s very little traffic on that stretch and it’s nice scenery.
