Yeah good luck getting a interview with them.I must appy with them about 6 times in 3 years.I did hear about that so every time I applyed,it was for the werehouse. The close werehouse to me is Sarasota werehouse and seems they are never hiring there.I have seen openings in Lakeland office but not much anywhere else.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Florida??

That's exactly what I was told by a manager. Dang shame since there is a DC a few minutes from my house.

That explains why when you go on there web site you never see openings for drivers.I think they do that to see if your willing load and unload also beside driving.Best bet is to talk to one of there driver's to get the inside scoop.

For whats it worth< i drive for the company directly east of the publix DC in sarasota and we deliver alongside them all the time at their stores. I asked one of their drivers just about a week ago how long the wait was for a drivers position and he said it was at 8 years now. You have to start in the warehouse and get your name on the list for drivers openings and it goes by the order in which you are on the list and not by the most experience. They make roughly $55K a year which isn't bad and benefits are good. My company isn't hiring but if they were I would suggest them in a heart beat, we have some drivers who don't want to work that made only $45K in 2009 and some made around $75K and we are local florida only and if you are on a overnight run you stay in a company paid hotel(we have no sleeper trucks). There is the same BS here that is everywhere and the overthinkers from corporate and our local management love to tell you how to do everything better but I just tune them out. If I were you I would my app in at Greatwide for company driver in Arcadia,Fl. Greatwide bought out Southpoint about 3.5 years ago and they haul mostly beer and soda to the publix stores. Anytime you see a Greatwide truck that is new and all white with Greatwide on The Door it's a company truck, I've seen a lot of them driving brand new Kenworth T660's with sleepers. Hope this helps and good luck.
