January 22nd is the deadline to get your "vaccination". How many of you have gotten it because of this mandate? How many are on the fence with your decision and how many of you will outright refuse and work Canada only. I've already told my boss I will not be getting it and have resided to working Canada only.

Seems there'll be plenty of cross-border positions opening up, which only means more imported immigrants who are destitute enough to get jabbed with anything so long there's a paycheck at the end of it. Nurses next?

Completely up to the individual. If you can make decent money in Canada, run Canada.
-
Can make pretty good money it's just a lot more running going to Quebec and back. Plus side are resets at home, down side slower drivers and more congestion.xlsdraw Thanks this.

Canada is light years behind the USA Interstate system. Lack of parking, washrooms, lighting, road maintenance, road lighting, lack of lanes. Driving through Canada is a death trap way worse over anything southbound. Only the criminals (who can't cross) and Yankee-haters commit themselves to it. Well I guess now the anti-vaxxers too.

These mandates won’t last, I would take your chances and resist the death jab as long as you can. They are already backing down on the healthcare vax mandates.

I just stopped going south and put my truck on doing dedicated east only. I didnt do it because of the jab, I just didnt like the new contract CAT dumped on us. That said, between halifax and cornwall there are WAY more parking spots with much later availability than I have had for a long time anywhere south of the border. On our carolina and Texas runs if your not parked by 7 or 8pm your gonna pay for parking. And as far as road maintenance, the corridor from the bottom of maine to I81 is absolutely as bad and in some places worse than anything I run today. With all the progress on the 85 in Quebec it wont be long til that is twinned all the way.
And I'll take an Irving big stop any day compared to loves/Pilot and McDonalds/Hardees etc.
Northern Ontario and out west isnt as good, that I do remember so I guess we are pretty lucky out east here. Lots of parking, lots of great restaurants.Canadianhauler21, skipgears, Phantom Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I think so too. They'll probably come up with a testing option.
-
Getting your vaccination as you call it takes a minimum of 6 weeks from the date of your first dose. Anybody who wants to be fully vaxxed by January needs to be getting that first jab really soon.
While we're seeing some backtracking on mandates I don't think Uncle Sam is going to change their mind on this one too quickly.
Most people who haven't got it yet have real concerns and probably won't be swayed. Then again, when your livelihood is at stake...
I have yet to hear of any major issues with cross border drivers getting and spreading covid. There's never even been any testing requirement.
To force this now seems foolish to me but it is what it is.
Personally I was happy to get the vaccine and wish everyone would but attempts to force it on people is a bad idea IMO.bavarian Thanks this. -
Thanks for sticking that in, I never ran the Atlantic side. Good to hear it sounds reasonable to manage!
Otherwise, northern Ontario and thru the prairies over to BC was severely under-maintained. Winter especially.Elroythekid Thanks this.
