truckstop worker

i have been doing maintenance at a truck stop for 3 years.i've seen the good the bad and the ugly.i think the ugly has taken over.
i have to empty the trash on the diesel island,usually 1/3 full of full urine bottles
clean the parking lot
food,trash,urine bottles and poop bags
guys emptying their trailors of pallets,cardboad,refused stuff just gets tossed out in the parking lot
we have dumpsters and barrells all over the place and this still happens.
the bathrooms
why leave it in the toilet,all that needs to be done is push the handle and its all gone
our older drivers won't even admit they drive a truck
sad, very very sad

 

it is a shame.i know there are more decent than idiot drivers.it's the few that ruin it for the others.
we have a very clean stop,the housekeeper is awesome.
the owners wanted to upgrade the showers but now they want to take that money and build a booth and charge overnight parking to cover costs of cleaning up after these guys.
if you see someone doing this kind of crap you should say something to them.
they are only making everthing tougher for the good truckers.

 

parking is free if you get fuel,eat at the restaurant or shower .they want to cater to the truckers who use the stop.
they want to get rid of the people who just use the stop to park and mess the place
the drivers who use our stop all the time we have no problems with,we believe it's the drivers who just park.
i caught a martin driver yesterday tossing pallets out.i said are they yours?he says yes.i tell him we don't want them either.he says well what should i do with them?i tell him put them back in your trailor if not i call the cops and your company.he p****d and moaned.i said this is prive property not the dump and he could put the pallets in the dumpster.he drove out and didn't use the dumpster.probably threw them out at the next truck stop parking lot.
