Just as a warning to all drivers that come thru ripon, which is on the way to San Fransico, Sacramento On Hiway 99.
The Ripon PD is out to get You. If you fail to use your signal, Seat Belt anything they can think of.
The trucks stops that are there(for those not in the know) are the Flying J, Loves and the Jimco Truck Stop.
friend of mine-not a driver, got a ticket for parking over a white line by about 2 inches, the ticket is going to cost him $420.00
A Co-worker of my wifes got a ticket for disturbing the peace, she slapped the snot out of an ex-co worker(shehim deserved it though) The tickest is also goig to cost her $420.00
Moral of the story: watch your P'S & Q"s out here in Ripon Ca.

fortunately for myself, i don't really park in ripon anymore. i prefer to park in certain places within the tracy city limits, or near the savemart grocery store in lathrop.

on an unrelated note, i see you're from manstinka. boy, the talk of the nearby county was of the old sugar cane plant that stunk to high heaven.

I left the J in Ripon yesterday.. there had been a local sitting in front of the J most of the day. didn't see him pull anyone over, but i wasn't paying much attention.

These people deserve tickets. You can't just blow into town in an 18 wheeler and park 2 inches over the white line and slap the snot out of anyone. Lesson learned, right?

I have never had a problem in Ripon....But I park legally and wear my seatbelt and use my turn signal and I hardly ever slap the #### out of people anymore.

IMHO - Your wife's co-worker ought to consider herself exceptionally fortunate that she only got a citation for disturbing the peace. Were I the ex-co-worker, I'd try my damnedest to have her arrested on assault charges.

Man you ain't lying. A few months back I was parked at the Jimco and walked to that new Mcdonalds right there by the get-off ramp and in the 15 minutes I was in there, I watched three vehicles get pulled over, all seperatly, by three different cops. One of them had to be a seatbelt violation because from where I was sitting, I didn't see him do nothing illegal. I often fuel at that Loves and in the last 9 months, durring daylight hours, I have more often than not seen at least one car or truck pulled over often in that little road that dead-ends behind the tire shop.

For those who ain't been through there yet, when there is no parking at the J or the loves, The Grimeco often has a few spots left. Possibly because its a dump with no working showers. There are also a few spaces behind the Jack in the Box. Don't ever park in the dirt or on the street - you'll be making an involuntary donation to the City of Ripon. Don't park in the Flying Hook unless you can get a marked, official parking space. You may well be woke up by the tow truck and you won't be the first. They ain't called the Hook for nothin.

Whats funny, is Ripon is a such a small town, use be just a dairy and farm town. Now all the Bayarea people have moved there and ruined it. I had alot of friends from there growing up, use to be all Dutch dairymen town. Things have changed, my friends wife works at the J, she says the city cops patrol the parking lots looking to write tickets for idle laws. All i got to say is watch it there, don't idle, they will get you.

there are a few relatively new abandoned warehouses in the vicinity of grant line and chrisman that can be used for some parking. if you park far enough off of grant line, nobody will be able to see where you've parked during the night time. i go there after 1300 on any given day, if i have to shut down in the lathrop/tracy/ripon area. the flying j sucks for parking. loves isn't any better. i'll take care of my shower by way of a large jug of water.
