I hope you're right but I certainly wouldn't count on it. What osha can mandate for workers and what can be required of foreigners to enter the country are two very different things.

Any cross border driver who doesn't have their first shot within the next week better have plans for January that don't include going state side.

Border officer told me "you must be vaccinated to cross the border." It looks highly unlikely the we will be exempt and, the way things are going, I doubt the exemption for US drivers will stick as well . I'm considering calling some of those chip moving companies in BC and making a move out there if all I have left is Quebec and Ontario.

I agree. I miss driving from Toronto > Truro NS. Was able to pull in at 3am into a truck stop and always find parking. I found the route to be better than any American runs. Other than that route the US takes the cake. Driving within Canada at least for me is not worth while unless it's local.

Where did you get that date from? All the info that I could find was "early January".
Do you possibly have an official link?
    Thanks

Doesn’t give a date, the 22nd is what the port director at my crossing told me as well.

This Notification further announces that the Secretary intends to lift these limitations for individuals who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) to align with anticipated changes to international travel by air.

    DATES:
This Notification goes into effect at 12 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on October 22, 2021 and will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on January 21, 2022, unless amended or rescinded prior to that time.

I'm doing halifax to cornwall. That's it. And I'm empty all the up to Cornwall. I'll miss larado in the middle of winter, when northern NB is a mess, but I'll deal with it.
