I use the 785 model and it sucks. The routing is stupid sometimes. A mess in NY city area, Atlanta and even New Orleans just to name a few. Today I had to get in Atlanta, was going south west on the 285 and all was great until I got on the 20E, then 85S and the freaking thing keep telling me *no trucks allowed* I know we are supposed to use the bypass but heck I was picking up in the city.

According the my DZL garmin I can't run 80 west in NJ because of a 13'5" bridge...... Well, yeah, its 13,5 if you are driving fully on the shoulder.

I tried to use it to go from Brooklyn to the Bronx. When I pushed go, it gave me instructions how to shove the GPS up my ###.

I ended up with the Garmin OTR800. When my company switched from Qualcomm to Zonar, on the first load with the Zonar it gave me basically an illegal route requiring a U-Turn which is seriously against company policy. Anyway, after that debacle, got a Garmin. I'm not impressed and have learned that I simply can't rely on truck routing programs. I always ensure I end up routing myself legally and safely. For, most loads I've been to the place before, usually more than once. But, anytime I get sent somewhere new, you bet your bippy I'll scrutinize the route I'm given and often end up not using it. Also fortunately, my prior job was being a map maker, so I do have the skill to figure this stuff out. I worry about newer drivers that haven't developed those skills as of yet.
