By the way, By beating this dead horse...You are doing the same thing that you're all upset about.

I have a couple of random thoughts about this...

When participating in boards like this it is best to keep your sense of humor intact. People will sometimes take things off in a direction that they intend as humor but it is not alway percieved by all of us the same way.
We tease each other and pick on each other a little but it is all in good fun!

People will say things here that they would never have the nerve to say to your face...So what?
Are you gonna hunt them down and beat them up?
If it means that much to you then maybe you should check yourself...'Cause you're taking the words that appear on the screen way too seriously.

We have all seen the people that show up here and go out of their way to be hateful, mean and belligerant just for the sake of getting a rise out of someone...It usually works!
But they're misery is their problem...I can't help it if I take a little pleasure in poking at them a little bit.

There is a ton of good information to be found here and there is probably about 5 tons of nonsense and humor that you have to read to get to the little "pearls of wisdom" that are here.

Rather than getting mad at the humor and nonsense...Enjoy it or ignore it but don't try to make it stop because I can assure you that without it there would be far fewer people that would come here on a regular basis.

    Of course...I could be wrong.

I didn't get into the grammar crap only because I was thinking partially like the curious1. Some of the posts were humorous. But my spelling, grammar, punctuation is not the best. So I didn't think it would be right for me to partake in any of the reindeer games.

Threads get hijacked all the time, I hijacked many of them myself. I've been here long enough to know what to expect when I see a user name who just posted. I expect knowledge & insight out of fellers like blackw900, southernpride, & theotherhalf. I expect questions from oldnewbiewannabegonnabe. And as for notarps... I expect the monkey poo to begin slinging!

If you were to go back to post #11, you will find that the initial "grammar and spelling" attack came in the defense of Southern Pride, not at his post. The first to get hit was 550hpW900L, I personally find SP's posts always informative, but hard to read, IF YOU ARE IN A HURRY. It is obvious that SP has not had all the benefits of an easy early life, but he is well respected on this forum as a poster, and rarely does he "put his foot in it" with BS...he posts from his experiences. He knows his business, is willing to share his experiences, offer advice to newbies, and rarely does he get picked on by any of us "old farts", because we know who he is and what he has accomplished in his life.

    You missed one..."oppurtunity"...should be opportunity!

Ignorance is thinking you are somehow in some position of authority that can jump into this forum and start bashing veterans of both this forum, and of trucking. Myself, I have been an O/O for 8 of my 15 years as a driver, I too share my knowledge and experiences with newbies, wannabes, and other experienced drivers, and I relish in the information they give me.

You might look at post #76 addressing this issue!

This forum is like a radio in a car (or truck), you can always change the channel if you don't like what the station is presenting. There are thousands of informative threads, and all have drifted off topic once or several times, so your efforts here have been done...now spend the rest of 2010 slamming all the other threads that have been "highjacked"...BTW, drop the "gh" and you have spelled hijacked correctly!

Say it isn't so...I was actually having fun with this...now what to do, guess I'll just go drive my truck whining about the bullies on the Truckers Forum!

While this was a decent blog, detailing his early life, and why he didn't complete his education...the problem I see in it, is the fact that he hasn't learned from his own mistake, and is now, and probably has always decided that his fists were his only way out of problems...he still has the option to better his communication skills, and this could be one source of learning, but that is his choice. He is still a respected member on this forum, he has a wealth of knowledge about this industry, and as I said before, he is willing to share his experience and knowledge...but maintaining his spelling and grammar level will continue to get the attacks from idiots who don't respect his knowledge! Most of us do!

    Have a Happy New Year
