Home MOST WEEKENDS. And it wasn't regional BUT IT WAS the SAME lanes over AND OVER. I did it THAT way ON PURPOSE.
I see why you do this, excessive use of capital LETTERS is FUN.feldsforever, Trucker61016 and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
I was home every 5 to 7 days for nearly 4 years... Ran from Idaho to anywhere between Michigan and Tennesee, Illinois and Virginia, and back to Idaho usually 1 load going east, 1 load going west, and sometimes a short haul to get me back home to idaho.... Average round trip 3700 miles, longest run was 4254 miles round trip in 7 days. 34 at home (not any specific days of the week, just when ever I got home) and back out again... averaged between 11500 and 12500 miles a month if I didnt take to much extra time off, best month was 14600 and some change.... Doesnt sound very regional to me.
I recently switched to regional/Local and I'm home almost every night... with 2 or 3 one to two night runs a month. Mostly ID & UT... But run most all the PWN. Average about 10000 to 11000 miles a month.UturnGirl, feldsforever and N00bLaLoosh Thank this. -
Run the kind of miles I did in the time I did then tell me about managing your clock... Can you run 4254 miles in 7 days, all legal and on ELD? I have several times. Or how about 7614 miles in 14 consecutive days? Yeah I've done that to, 9/12/20 to 9/26/20 IIRC. And I've never had a violation on a DOT inspection. If you want to turn big miles and make good money doing it... You #### well best know how to manage your clock and make your Log Book work for you, not you working for the log book.CorsairFanboy, InTooDeep, UturnGirl and 4 others Thank this.

I guess it depends on how your company runs. Our loads can sometimes involve a bit of dwell time between loads. So I run hard when the miles are there, if I’m on a legal load I want to do 600 mile at a minimum, 650+ preferably.
That leads to doing restarts pretty quickly in a 65mph truck.UturnGirl, feldsforever and N00bLaLoosh Thank this. -
I drive for Walmart so guess what I get to do my 34 hour resets at home the Max Walmart will let you work in 6 days straight

I need more tips on the 8.5 hour days. I would love 9 hour day for a while.

I run out of Dallas, and usually run up to Texarkana, Indianapolis, Akron, then a return to Houston and back to Dallas (it’s what I’m doing this week). Other weeks I’ll take a load to Houston, then Tupelo, MS, then Indy, Akron, Houston, home. There are a few more like that but you get the picture. Anyway, I roll out Sunday afternoon or evening, and usually get home Friday evening.BennysPennys, feldsforever and UturnGirl Thank this.

the first 6/7 days of a fresh 70, anything over 8.5 hours spent in a day chips away at the first recap day...you can blow the clock for 3 or 4 days, 9.5 hours one day, 10.5 hours another day, 9.5 hours another day...but that totals up to 4 hours of blown clock... just have to be mindful about when that first recap day will fall and what you have scheduled that day, because that 4 hours of blown clock comes out the 8.5 roll over hours on that first day, you'll only gain 4.5 hours that first day, might get a little tight on time if you're still trying to cram deliveries infeldsforever and UturnGirl Thank this.

Having the ability to “Kill the clock” and run 34s is nice. If I’m recapping 3 hours at midnight for some reason and reset finishes at 7-8am I’ll finish the reset. But sometimes it doesn’t make sense to reset
feldsforever, UturnGirl, GYPSY65 and 1 other person Thank this.
