8.5 hour a day drivers are my favorite coworkers. While they are strolling along on the last day of their load, I’m unloaded, reloaded, and heading back the other way looking forward to my full day off for a reset.
To each their own I guess.
70hrs 6 and 34 or roll forever

Just mash on it and get there! Put that shiny hiney in the wind and don’t worry about it.

If I run out my 70 asap for two straight ‘weeks’ that second 34 just doesnt do the trick and I need time off. Crappy 34s where you’re shutting down around 1200 don’t help either. Running recaps though I can go 6 weeks without time off with 4 being common.UturnGirl, shatteredsquare and Dockbumper Thank this.

I get weekends off so I never even look at the 70. Hell I run over my 14 at customers with parking as a chemical delivery guy. Longest shift was 17.5 hours. It was a nightmare. Acid line was messed up. Lube line was messed up. All the disgruntled employees kept stopping me to tell me their life stories…. Oh and a guy was covered in baby formula!

At one point last week I had around 76 hour worked in the last 8 days with a reset in the middle. Let’s see ya do that on recap.

had 10 hours left this morning to get 300 miles to delivery. got 370 miles to pickup a preload tomorrow, i gain 3 hours at midnight. running like this is dumb, if u run into traffic or gremlins u r fokd

I agree.LoSt_AgAiN, kylefitzy and Lonesome Thank this.

Tried both options I definitely prefer to do the 70 hours then take a well earned 34 hour break.UturnGirl Thanks this.

It all depends on your loads . I can run recaps for weeks on end. If you pick up and deliver daily....it won't work. LEARN how you are dispatched and plan accordingly.
