A guy I went to school with says he snores so they required his to get a sleep apathy machine. I’m not sure the cost but I believe it’s pretty costly.
tscottme Thanks this. -
DOT doctors will try to trick a person into saying they snore. They'll make a joke out of it to trick the person; "Do you snore, HAHAHA, don't we all?"Studebaker Hawk and tscottme Thank this.

Ya I answered just like you did Chinatown. I said idk I’m sleeping but my husband says I don’t snore. But your right jokingly they will try to get you to say you do. Glad I didn’t fall for that one! Whew.
Speed_Drums, tscottme and Chinatown Thank this. -
@VinceBlack
Since you're moving out of your apartment and won't have an address, maybe you can get a legal address here:
Mail Service
You can have a legal address in Bushnell, Florida.
Several drivers on this forum used this for a legal address in Florida, Texas or South Dakota.

- Two forms of proof of residential address: It is our understanding that Sumter County is accepting a copy of your Escapees: Home agreement/welcome letter*, along with the Escapees RV Club “Letter of Acknowledgement*.” Voter’s Registration card, Florida vehicle registration or title, or mail from a financial institution (not more than two months old) is also acceptable.

2 docs looked shocked when i said i didnt, as if it was abnormal to not snore, (bit odd since im only 150lbs and 6 ft tall, not exactly the demographic they generally peg for sleep apnea)VinceBlack and Chinatown Thank this.

With the huge driver shortage the media seem to keep referring to there should not be a problem getting a job, as long as you remain fit there is almost no age limit. The only issue I see is if you can't afford the CDL tuition then you'll have no choice but to have to sign up with a company who'll train you which is good, the down side to this deal is they'll own your hide till you can pay them back which is fine if you enjoy working for them but if they start stuffing you around and you want to quit, you will still be left with the burden of debt owned to them with the unpaid remainder left to be paid in full.

And Roadmaster, Truck Dynasty and the plethora of other $10,000 tuition Driving Schools will not require you to pay them? " A loan is a loan is a loan. Doesn't matter if it is for a house, car, bicycle, tuition, etc. They loan you the money, provide goods or services in exchange. You are obligated to repay the money. Why is it that people don't get that!?
-
I was the youngest in my class during training and I was 29 at the time. Most were mid 30's and older. I think this is starting to become common because most young people do not consider trucking as a career when they graduate high school. Why would they? Almost no school advertises it as such. It's either college or trades(electrical/welding/etc/mechanic/etc).Pamela1990 and Chinatown Thank this.

I’ve seen people almost double your age starting off trucking. You’ll be fine. What really matters is your job history and driving record.Pamela1990 Thanks this.
