I pay $56 per week for the very basic medical, dental and vision, single coverage. I don't remember what the deductibles are, but you can bet they are high for such a cheap weekly rate.

Thanks I'm local fighting the urge the best I can. I currently pay $12.00 a week with a $2,000 deductible.

That's a really good rate. I think my deductible is up around $3-5K.

Even with the higher insurance costs I'm paying I still make considerably more than I would staying local. It's just so hard to crack $1K gross per week where I live.

i live in phx,az work local, we have 98 employees. I make $21.35hr close to 53hrs every week. I just miss otr and pulling tanker. What I do now is different trailers daily. Which is nice. But there is alot of manual labor evolved.

My last job paid $22.30 per hour and when things were busy I would bump up against my 70 regularly which meant great overtime pay. Even so, my highest possible pay week local is just an average week here...with a lot less actual work involved. I keep more of my money doing OTR too as part of my pay is untaxed per-diem.

Factor in other stuff like commuting to and from work, and on occasion I would barely get 8hrs actually at home and have to eat, shower and sleep in that time before heading back to work.

Not saying I would never work local again but the money and conditions would have to be right and I'm not seeing that happening in South Florida.

We have a handful of customers in your area which would make getting home easy. I’ve picked up and delivered at places in Avondale, Tempe, and north of Phoenix a lot over the years at IRT. We use Danny’s Tank Wash in Avondale and have drop trailers there to switch out with.

Yes they do shamrock dairy, Coca-Cola, Pepsi. Just to name a few. Still debating it. When I was otr I was single, no home no responsibility. now I'm married, house, truck. Etc.

I drove for IRT back in 2010, ran out of the now closed Turlock terminal. Ran mostly Naked Juice runs. As long as you were on time and didn't screw up they left me alone. I idled as much as I wanted to stay comfortable. I am actually considering calling them up due to back concerns I just can't handle freight anymore. Should make a decision in the coming weeks.

I have no idea, I assume they should be around .60 a mile. It's was pretty easy to get 3200 plus mes a week back then, I would hope it's the same way now.
