I told another company driver today about that Arrow story, he doesn't have internet and was out over Chistmas and didn't hear about.

I had a bit of a chuckle today too, I saw a full page ad for Arrow in the latest issue of Company Driver (the little thow-away rag at the truckstops) so it looks like at least the check to the advertisers cleared.

Nobody deserves what Arrow did to it's drivers. Cheap freight has nothing to do with it. These are drivers trying to make a living and support their families. Sometimes you don't have a lot of choices and have to take a job where ever it's available. We had a hard time with the economy the way it is, getting my husband a job here in Michigan. (he worked for a company in Nebraska) A lot of the companies aren't hiring because of the crappy economy here. It took us a year and a half to get him closer to home. Now he's home every weekend or every other weekend. Better than every 6 - 7 weeks. Good luck former Arrow drivers.

I hate to see this happen to any company. But i can tell you from experiance Dougs dad J.W. Is rolling over in his grave. He would never stand for something like this happening to his drivers. I worked for them for 4 years back years ago and they were very good to me and J.W. was a hell of a nice guy and a true driver owner. He started Doug out right so i am suprized this has happened the way it did. I remember Doug sweeping the shop and working the fuel desk and even a dispatcher so i know he did it all for a while. But good luck to all the Watermelon drivers trying to get home and land another job i wish you luck and progress in all you do.
