I have been searching around Craigslist and it appears that a lot of FedEx contractors will take someone on with 6 months. Any other suggestions for companies?

You can get on with ltl companies doing P&D that are offering $30+/hr with your experience. The job market is crazy right now and you can pretty much write your own ticket.

I think that goes for all of us, but...yeah. Maybe an extra warning for those guys.

A ton of FedEx contractors are also looking only for teams. Team driving is not something to jump into lightly unless you already know you can sleep well in a moving truck and are ok with sharing the tiny space of a truck 24 hours per day. Some people can. Some people can't. Most people don't know until they try it.

K&B Transportation | Midwest Regional Transportation …
@Bakari742 was/is a driver there and will give you information. He did post the pay advertised is the real deal.
Here's one of his posts: "I worked for K&B and they are really good for anyone who likes to work. I was happy there years, until December 2017 when I left to start my own business."

12 months was the standard when I first started driving. You had to suck it up for the first year before you could qualify for that local job or more specialized work but seems that's changed to 6 months now. So you should have a good amount of options.
