Should i sell my brand new 389

I must've listened to Sammy Haggar one too many times because I can't drive 55. Don't know what it is about it but feels like I'm falling asleep if I'm not doing at least 65.

winning bid was $260k before 12% FET, auction fee and state sales tax if any.
Puts the price tag at just over $300k

 

If you want to sell, now would be a good time. I personally can't do that (ethically). I don't want to screw another driver with price. I would sell at-cost (or just a few thousand above at most), but that's me.

 

You won’t buy a 379 in decent shape for those profits much less rebuild one. Rebuilt and new are a long ways apart. I do understand everyone has a different idea of what rebuilt means. Or what it can cost. My advice if you make that move is hold out for a well cared for truck that has your main wants as in Wheel base etc. buying what you want is cheaper than building it.



You called it your baby.....if that’s true you wouldn’t entertain the idea of selling. The point I’m getting at is it’s probably not the one....however the Peterbilt hood is on the chopping block. So getting another new one may not happen.

 

So sorry to hear about your truck and trailer. How the heck did that happen? I know they say some keys are universal but #### makes me thick 3 times about ever leaving my truck.

 

Your not screwing someone who agrees to a price. Your not forcing them into it. In fact I will go a step farther, he was offered. He didn't go in search of the sale.

 

I had been looking for a dually for some time.
I found a 2014 Ram 3500 4x4 for 34k. it had a whopping 20,000 miles on it, I bought it from a 74 year old farmer who used it to bumper pull a small show tractor.
8 days later I was offered 54k for it..
Needless to say, I no longer own a dually, but my bank account is fatter..

 

I don't think anybody is thinking you can rebuild a 379 with only the profit off the sale, you'll be lucky to find one for that little, but imagine what you could do to a 379 with the half the original cost plus the profit. Call it 130k you dump into a decent 379 buying it included. You could make it #### near new for that.
