Oh boy, please tell me it's a new automatic transmission Freightliner Cascadia. I just can't find any companies anywhere that are recruiting for a fleet of newer model auto Freightliner Cascadia's. Although I'll settle for a Volvo VNL or International ProStar. (Sarcasm)

If you ever take a job based on the tractor, you're a very different type of person from me.
Grumppy, Dennixx, TB John and 1 other person Thank this. -
Also me.
I drive a 2005, that has been driven hard, hauled heavy loads, has rattles, very basic cab, and yet that old truck puts a smile on my face. Break it, repair it, repeat.Last edited: Dec 13, 2021

Well, if you want to drive around capped out at 62mph with sensors that read guard rails then auto apply your breaks at inappropriate times then go for it. Just stay in the far right lane and out of my way.BlueThunderr and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

As long as the truck pays the right amount, I'll let you have your moral victory. Have at it, champ. LolLoneRanger, TB John, Pamela1990 and 1 other person Thank this.

Having different preferences doesn't amount to a moral victory. I am just willing to sacrifice some money to preserve some sanity. Maybe that's not your deal and that's fine, it doesn't have to be. Also in my experience slower speeds amount to less productivity so when pay is directly tied to productivity ie pay by the mile or pay by the load then a slower truck will likely net me less pay. Add to that the irritation that comes with it then for me it's not worth it. Now if I'm getting a really good hourly wage with overtime then I probably won't care as much. However when driving around capped out at well below the speed limit causes me as much aggravation as it does the 4 wheelers behind me it's not the most desirable way to spend my day. Then if it also means I make less money because I'm not able to get as many miles/loads in then that's a double no go. However if you are are happy with it then I'm happy for you.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.
