I bet the guys that paid for CP3 swaps on their 19's and 20's will be pissed. Although I'm glad they're owing up to it.

Im sure they can get some sort of reimbursement. I’m glad I didn’t shell out $10k to fix it before this came out

$10k+ is if the pump already shredded itself contaminating the whole fuel system. Some people have swapped out the CP4 pump preventatively on 2019 and 2020's before anything bad happened which I believe I heard costs somewhere in the $2500-3000 range. Seems like absurd money for a fuel pump swap but if you search the web for it there are aftermarket kits from tuning shops out now. The good new is that it was always possible to do this on the Ram trucks to "fix it", where as on the 2011+ Ford engine it isn't. (Doesn't fit) I believe the 2011-16 LML Duramax motors can also be CP3 swapped. Personally I would just avoid any engine or model year of vehicle with a CP4 but this recall for the Ram trucks is a bit of a game changer. However I wouldn't hold my breath too hard if you're one of those guys that paid out of pocket to do the pump swap on your 19 or 20. I might ask for some sort of reimbursement directly from Fiat-Chrysler but wouldn't count on it. They'd probably blow you off with an answer like "well because the work wasn't done at an authorized service center with the proper documentation blah blah blah..."

Mine shredded itself and ruined everything :( pump, injectors, lines.

I used to work at the service dept at a Dodge dealer so my buddy is going to replace the whole system including lift pump to get his extra hours. Plus the parts dept is getting their share too.

It’s a darn shame the manufacturers use this garbage to save whatever minuscule amount they did. But yes, this recall is a Godsend.
