I'm not trying to pry into your finances, and if you'd prefer not to answer I wouldn't be offended, but can you say what his reasoning was?

I have rented in the past, for many years actually, but it always seemed like it would be better to buy where you could slowly build equity in something where in renting you don't.

Long story short in order to qualify for the mortgage I wanted I would have increase my revenue and lower my deductions to show more taxable income ...and then over the next 2 tax years hand it all to uncle Sam just to buy a house to pay more taxes on that I'm probably not going to live long enough to pay off , and that's coupled with the truck being paid off wanting to work less not more .
Hell with that ! This spring I'll just go rent a little bigger nicer house and stay slowed down , as it is now I only really have to work 2 weeks out of the month .

You might stumble across a place you like that will take a land contract. The guberment rules have effed up conventional mortgage.

Well Brad, just change your name to Boris Zeilingvot and talk with an accent. You will then qualify for a new truck, trailer and house through some effed up govt program. It won’t be fraud as you will just be using the money you have contributed to uncle Sam. Those Volvos have that dinner table with bottom bunk it will be like owning a second house!!!

I read a book one time rich dad poor dad by Robert kiosoki not sure on how to spell the last name but he claimed in his book that a house is a poor investment. He said you are better off renting which I don't get other than all the expense with a house etc windows interest appliances roof repair and on and on in owning a house. I am not the one with the answers other than what I read and I do own a house so just my two cents as I know everyone wants to have a house. Merry Christmas to everyone and hope you have a good New Year.

I'll admit it was disappointing to find out I'm better off to keep renting as opposed to buying but I'm sealing a deal on a nicer house in a much better area of omaha now ...a suburb known as Lavista .
Everything happens for a reason and I guess my plan wasn't meant to be in north O .

Yeah. I don’t know man. I don’t like their assessment whatsoever. Sometimes accountants are stupid ####s.
