Learn your trailer offset during a turn. What would you do differently making the turn if the fire hydrant was your mother standing there with her backed turned .

If your company is still willing to keep you then you should stay there. There aren't many companies that would hire you right now. I hope you're learning from your mistakes.

You have backing and turning issues. Starting your own company will not solve your shortcomings.brian991219, gentleroger, homeskillet and 4 others Thank this. -
It sounds like you're not swinging out wide enough when you make right turns it sounds like. Sometimes you'll need to take up multiple lanes to make a turn, particularly right turns. You need to always be looking far enough ahead so you can gauge how much you'll need to swing out. When your turn is coming, slow down before you actually have to, in case you have to swing out. That'll give you time to assess the upcoming turn before doing so. Don't forget to watch your mirrors also. Also many guys have this bad habit of dragging the trailer tires over curbs. Every once in while that happens. Don't make that a habit because you'll tear up the equipment or even pop a tire. We all foul up as rookies. Just learn from it and do better.tscottme, homeskillet, PacoTaco and 4 others Thank this. -

Mirrors and GOAL!

Yep, watch your mirrors better, Everyone’s made mistakes. Not everyone’s got caught. Especially in the first year. You’re going into tight spots, making a lot of deliveries. That raises your chances. The good news is you’ll learn faster. Sounds like your learning the hard way. Best way to learn. Slow down, stay focused, don’t let others cause you anxiety. Take your time. The only accident that’s potentially dangerous is the parking lot car. That can happen easy, when they sneak in behind you. I’ve done it more than once, after 20+ yrs of experience. And just recently a few years back. Parking lots are very common accident sites for a Truck.Try to keep your State Driving record clean. Hire a Lawyer for any ticket you get. What you’ve explained sounds worse than it really is. Just take your time. Look at the big picture in the long run. Protect your License.
