Ask someone if they can get in front of you, match your speed and with the rear of their trailer slow u down. I dunno, in all honesty..the best you could do at this point is not take anyone else out and say your prayers. Or write your last words to your loved ones.

actually,Mac did have that in I know 2 shows. One was in a Benz I think. Some goober shot up the car and lost all his brake fluid. He had to climb out, pull the line for the PS and fill the brake master up....first time I saw water clear PS fluid.....or a PS system with a standard fuel line hooked up via barb fittings.:biggrin_25522:
Other one was the old 40-50s GMC deuce and a half going to get some Nitro stick from an abandoned mine.Nitro dripped on the brake drum out back and blew out his brakes.stopped when he hit the bottom and the river.

THere was a Rescue 911 episode on this exact problem too.SO this is a true event.

But to answer the question....Option 10 or whatever we are up to.Grab the CB and holler Hey boys,CHeck this #### out,You ain't gonna wanna miss it! while hanging out the door acting like your riding a bucking bronco all the way to the bottom.

Also, when I worked for Osborn trucking(truck washer....crappy job I know) there was a couple trucks with the "Ejection" button on the dash to drop the trailer. What is the point? You gotta get out and unhook the lines anyway. Is it that much harder to walk 2 feet and pull the pin?

Man time to kiss the ground,if anybody did that for me,use his truck to stop the rear truck. If that guy was not there,he would have dove off the side of the mountain, real ugly.I always pretrip, last year I hook up to an pup that had no brakes, all burned up,look an the drum gone,no brakes.I only found this on my pull test, with the dolly valve pull down and just kept rolling.I pull doubles so you need all your brakes.

They've got those on the military tankers too. From what a trainer in the army told me, they use that when the truck is about to roll so they don't lose the whole truck, just the tank. It'd be handy to have if you lost your brakes on a mountain like that and didn't have a friend in front to stop you.

So, did ya get stopped? Haven't heard from you. Gotta say you're pretty cool under pressure to get on here and ask your question in the middle ofa runaway.

Heh.....When I was in Grafenwohr....We set up a 5000 gal tanker as our water truck....
The "quick release" was a rope going out the rear window to the fifth-wheel release.......

say your prayers..and bend over and kiss it good bye..unless its a short grade you're doomed..blame yourself for being stupid and not checking your brakes to begin with
